Are you excited? I'm excited! Today's reveal is going to consist of a whole lot of photos, and I'll be posting again in a few days with more details about design decisions, sources, projects, etc. For those of you just joining, you can catch up on some background here:
Over the last few weeks, our living room was revamped and given a whole new look with a few strategic updates. Here's where we started...
Lots of brown, cluttered and fairly neglected. I had recently swiped all the art from that blank TV wall and moved it into our dining room on a whim, leaving a huge, white wall. Baskets are great for small spaces like ours, but they were taking over the room. You get the picture. As promised, let's get to the after photos (with just a tiny bit of commentary, for now!)...
The first big change was replacing the too big, brown sofa with one that is a much better fit for the room. I found it secondhand for a bargain and this single swap made a world of difference.
The brown TV console was painted a lovely shade of bright blue to provide a strong base for the focal point. The DVD player is hidden in the painted basket, a product of a Friday night crafting session.
Top art thrifted; bottom art from Cairo (!). Lamp, thrifted.
That white table? You guessed it...old thrift store find. And another thrifted lamp!
The daybed was one of my best bargains ever. Craigslist for $25 over five years ago, and I still love it!
And another piece of thrifted art. :)
The TV wall art is really special. The photos were taken (by a very talented friend!) during our church mission trips to Malawi and India in previous years, so we have a deep and personal connection ...not to mention they're just beautiful.
We are loving this fresher, brighter, crisper version of our living room. Feel free to ask questions in the comments, and be sure to come back soon for all the juicy details of the transformation!
