Well, it's week two, and although there are plenty of ideas and potential plans rattling around in my mind, not a whole lot has materialized yet! In case you're just joining this adventure, let's back up. I'm tackling a revamp of our living room as part of the One Room Challenge hosted by Linda of Calling it Home. You'll find more of my plans and inspiration here.
I still haven't nailed down the plan for the main wall. It really needs to hold its own and be a statement of some kind, and I'm waiting for the perfect inspiration to strike. Also, I'm reminded through this process that I'm such a collector at heart and my natural process is to trust the creative process and allow a plan to evolve -- gathering inspiration and crafting a direction, yes, but also holding the plan loosely and allowing space for the perfect plan to surface. And although it might be a bit much for both the living and dining rooms to be covered in gallery walls, there might be a way to make this work. I'm really not sure where I'm headed, but I do know that I have a few pieces I've collected along the way that I'd love to incorporate. We'll see!
I also found a basket that will work well to hide the DVD player. I'm keeping my options open here, but this will do if I don't come across anything else. If I keep this one, we'll poke holes in the back for the cords to run through.
Let's hope this next week includes some painting and real progress. I'm excited to get some great momentum going soon!
