On a whim, I decided to include some DIY wrapping paper as part of my Home Depot Style Challenge. While prepping the 'gifts' (aka empty boxes ;)) to display, I wanted to incorporate something unexpected, unique. I had a vague memory of Emily Henderson doing something like this awhile back, and it stuck with me. I love how imperfect and abstract it is. You guys must know by now that I'm all about quick, easy DIYs. This one really has no rules. Also very little clean-up, which I appreciate. Here are the instructions: 1. Grab rolls of kraft paper (or any paper!) and leftover paint or $3 paint samples. 2. Dip brush. 3. Go crazy. I didn't expect it to be so much FUN! I even used a sheet as a little backdrop for the centerpiece on our table, to add some dimension and break up the white a bit. This is obviously something you could use all year around, unless you use strictly Christmas-sy colors/inspiration. Which could be fun…I'm thinking glitter! In this case, I made the packages festive by adding ornament clusters and holiday-ish ribbons and trimmings. And now that I think about it, custom wrapping paper could be a great gift as well! Happy painting!!
