Our bathrooms are the only rooms in our house that I've never painted. And they need it! They both have a lovely yellowish-beige color which covered the entire house when we moved in five years ago, and it drives me crazy. I've been trying to get up the motivation to tackle them, and I think I'm close - at least on our main bath.
And the ceilings! I'm not a fan of this blue. When I look at these pictures - especially the trim color - I can't believe I've waited so long to do something about it. Not to mention the light fixtures. So not doing anything for me. Yikes.
I've tried to add lots of distractions to keep my eye happy. Which is kind of silly, because a better paint color would just do wonders and be such a happier canvas.
There's no window, so the lack of natural light is definitely not exciting to me. But it's a fun challenge. The high ceiling helps - and can accommodate a fabulous light fixture! I'd love to replace the flooring, but this will have to wait. With a fresh coat of paint and some better-planned accessories, a decent makeover is definitely possible.
I just ordered this mirror, which doesn't tell you a whole lot about the direction I'm going in my head, but makes me very excited. I'm definitely going to mix it with some modern elements, and it absolutely needs to be paired with black somewhere, somehow. I've narrowed it down to two ceiling light fixtures and am trying to decide!! Also haven't been able to get this (simple and affordable!) diy towel ring out of my head, and am pretty sold on it.
Any suggestions for the paint color? I'm all over the place at the moment. Embrace the lack of natural light and go super dark? Go with a light, reflective neutral? Paint a crazy, abstract pattern of some kind just because it's a small space and I can? Weigh in - I'm listening!
